Organic Palm Sugar: Indonesia is blessed with a variety of palm trees, but there are three that locals rely on to make delicious sugar: the Arenga palm, Palmyra palm, and the Coconut palm. Farmers typically produce solid sugar in cylinder or half-circle molds, perfect for cooking. But that’s not all! With a little extra magic, they also create ‘gula semut’ or “gula jawa” or “Granules Palm Sugar”—a fine, crumbly sugar often used to sweeten coffee, top desserts, or add a dash of sweetness to your favorite dishes!
